funny how things work out

I know that I promised to talk about my first real date with The Russian, so here I am to deliver.

I guess I should give some background as to how I made the switch. In most cases, it definitely isn’t easy to get a date with your date’s best friend.

So remember how my date with Ryon was on Saturday yeah? Saturday night I made sure to add Scott (The Russian) on facebook, as well as Ryon for good measure. I knew at least this way we could make some contact without things getting too messy. I wasn’t sure how that contact would be made. Should I talk to him? Should I let him talk to me? Should I do in a private message? Will I look desperate? There was a lot going on in my head!

Sunday night I was just at home playing on the computer and Scott jumps online. I knew I had to take the opportunity to talk to him. So I did it. It was just small talk at first and I made sure to find out what he was doing, if he was busy, etc. Turns out he wasn’t. Lucky for me, my Mom had just made some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, so I knew I could use those to get in the door. Boys love food. So I asked in a way that made it easy for him to opt out. I didn’t want to set myself up for failure. Guess what? He accepted.

I went over and of course got lost looking for his apartment. I think my nose was frozen by the time I eventually made it. It was worth it though :) So we got to talking, and three hours later I went home excited. I felt like we’d really connected and he’d even made plans for some time during the week. I didn’t get the feeling that he would cancel, but I think because of my experience previous to my date with Ryon, a part of me was nervous.

Wednesday night, that same week, we had our first date.

Ok, so I know I said I would get into the first date, but this post is long enough don’t you think? Next time I’ll get to it…promise :)
