I’ve been spending a lot more time on my new book review site, Bailey’s Book Club! I’ve been reading like crazy since Scott gave me a Kindle for my birthday about a year and a half ago. I always want to talk about them, but I kept getting bugged because Scott wasn’t invested in the characters (like I always am) and his best response is ‘uh huh’. So yeah. Best solution=online book club where we can talk about all my books and opinions on such things.

2. The address bar is at the top of the page. You don’t need to go to Google in order to go to a website. The TOP of the PAGE.

3. The internet isn’t ‘broken’ and I didn’t break it.

4. Google isn’t a browser. Internet Explorer is a browser. Firefox (NOT foxfire) is a browser. Google is not a browser!!

5. In order to have a website, you need to have a domain name…this is not negotiable.

Bottom line, just don’t start an online business if ANY of these things are confusing to you. kthanksbye.

It was super awesome when he finally did realize we were doing that for our date Friday night. He was not happy about, but he wasn’t mad either. I think he was more anxious and freaked out. It may be wrong, but I enjoy seeing him get a little unglued every now and then. He likes people to think he’s all smart and put together and stuff so I take it upon myself to turn his little world upside down every once in a while.

Honestly, he will admit that he liked it more than he thought he would. I mean, who wouldn’t like getting a foot slash ankle slash leg massage? That’s basically what a pedicure is for a boy, minus the nail polish (nope, he would not allow the glitter his pedicurist suggested). Overall I think we had a good time. Scott didn’t even kick the guy in his face!* Yay Scott!

Last night we were able to go and it was Scott’s turn to plan the date. I didn’t know what we were doing so when he started pulling in to Burger King I threw up in my mouth a little bit. I hate that place. I can’t tell if it’s because of the nasty food, or because I’m emotionally scarred from high school (where I spent a good amount of time eating lunch at the BK). Either way, ew.

Lucky for me, Scott just took a wrong turn and we ended up at Costa Vida. It’s a Cafe Rio knock off, for those who may not know. Food was good. Spilled some Sangria on my shirt.

Next, we went to Nickle City (which is what qualifies this as a ‘first,’ as I have never been).  It’s an arcade game place where everything costs a nickel. Basically we just tried to get enough tickets to get Claudy presents. It’s a little strange how much we think, talk, and obsess about him.

Anyway, we ended up with sweet rings to show our allegiance to the Dark Lord:

And Claudy ended up with some bubbles and a kazoo. Both presents are sure to be equally annoying.

Next date will be my choice. I’m thinking double pedicures may be in order.

So YEP! I have a job!! I never knew I could enjoy work…well, at least to the point I am enjoying it now.

I work at a company called Propser in the e-commerce department. Like I said, I help people build their online businesses, so not only do I get to talk about my favorite things, but I’m helping the students learn something new- much like my dream job of being a teacher

I feel super crazy blessed. A lot of things happened that shouldn’t have in order for me to land in this exact position at this exact company – and I could not be happier!

Scott and I are working on our first online business – more to come on that later

Let’s see…beyond that, nothing much is new. We’ve only got one fish now…our 4 frog babies either committed suicide or ate each other, we’re not quite sure which.

Also, I turned 25. I moved to a new age bracket, and if I live to 100, my life is 1/4 of the way over. I’m a ‘glass is half full’ kind of person…

Annnnddd….today is my only baby brother’s birthday!!! Wahoo!! He’s 16…and totally hot right now.

Did you know I LOVE to read? I’ve always liked it but when Cot got me my Kindle last year I’ve been reading books like it’s my job (if only I could get paid, then we’d all be happy). So about a month ago Cot told me I had to stop buying books or we couldn’t eat. It was a tough call, but I decided to start reading books I could borrow for awhile.

I’ve always refused to be mainstream (yeah, right) and have put off reading popular books like Twightlight (caved about a year ago and never looked back) and most recently…Harry Potter. That’s right, I’ve stepped back to 1997 and loving every minute of it.

I’m currently on book 5, Order of the Phoenix.

Promise to report my thoughts and feelings on the matter when I’ve completed the series but I will say, I have never hated anyone more than Draco Malfoy.

Jobless.

I know right?

What is it with me and these startups? When I initially interviewed for my current (past?) job I was told that they were about to ‘take off’ so I figured I was safe from the current economy’s favorite word: downsizing.

Things obviously didn’t go as planned, otherwise I’d be busy doing whatever it is I would normally do before preparing for another day of work instead of blogging about being let go. I mean yeah, I didn’t get fired. I didn’t do anything wrong. I did my job well. Does that make me feel better? Hells no.

Can I just say that the fastest way to feel like a loser is to lose your job?

Ugh.

Back to the grind I guess. Let’s just take 10 seconds and all be sad and extremely scared for me.

WELL…

I have been following Mia’s (Kareen’s) story from the beginning of her adoption all the way to the end, and fell in love along the way. My little heart would just warm every time a new post was up, or my favorite, a new video!! It was really amazing to watch this little family bring so much joy and love to this amazing little girl.

Fast forward to the 4th of July. Every year my family will go to the park and have dinner and wait to watch fireworks. As Scott and I were walking in, we noticed a relative of Mia’s new Dad walking in and I thought, hm…I wonder if they are here.

Side note: My sister and I both went to high school with Mia’s new Aunts. So it’s not all the way creepy that I would recognize them at the park. 

Anyway…turns out Mia and her new family were at the park!! I couldn’t believe it! I wanted to go over and meet her but I didn’t want to seem like a weirdy. So I made my sister come with Scott and me (she’s really good friends with Mia’s new Aunt Lindy) so we didn’t seem so random.

Pretty much it took about 2 seconds before I started crying. It was so amazing to see this little girl and she just ran into my arms and loved me. Scott got to speak Russian to her and it was clear she understood him.

Mia’s sister Bree came up and loved me too and I’m so glad Mia’s Mommy, Kecia, took a picture:

Truly, one of the best days of my entire life

Turns out not only do we get to celebrate baby Max arriving early, but also baby Frances Damaris Hill!

Weighing in at a whopping 6 lbs 14 oz, baby girl Frances made her debut on June 15!

Can you believe it?!

Frances and Max are first cousins, and I’m sure just like me and Berk, they’ll be best friends!
